Mortier - 1700 (Old Testament w/ Apocrapha)
These prints are from the famous Mortier "Great Bible." The images are by the most important illustrators of the day including Jan Luyken (1649-1712), and Bernard Picart (1673-1733). They were copied in many later editions in various languages, but none of the later editions were as sumptuous. Each page of thin, handmade paper with watermarks, had two engravings. Titles are in Dutch and French. The illustrations from the book were republished in 1968. 20 of the 60 we have are listed below. Those below are mostly from Judges [written "Judicum"] and the Jewish Apocrapha.
