Scheuchzer - 1731

These are finely crafted copperplate engravings on handmade laid paper.  Perhaps, more than any book of the time, the author tried to illustrate the scientific details in bible descriptions.  Engraved frames often contain more or less loosely connected scientific illustrations as in detail to the right. (All prints are roughly the same size though thumbnails differ.)
